There was brief discussion surrounding the ‘village needs survey’ compiled last year. Comments from Yorkshire Rural Community Council were relayed regarding the survey’s length and the nature of some questions. It was decided to distribute the survey in its present format with the addition of contact names and phone numbers. A covering explanation was agree by those present to be distributed with each questionnaire.

E. Birrell to arrange for the questionnaire to be distributed within the village ASAP. She will also contact the Parish Council secretaries of: Leavening, Fridaythorpe, Fimber and Uncleby. Paddy Clooney agreed to arrange for distribution to the outlying farms within the parish.

Meeting Ryedale House 08.01.02

E.B. and David Crease met with Jo Reilly, from Ryedale District Council, for advice on which bodies to approach. and in which order, regarding funding. The suggestion is firstly to approach Ryedale. Application forms being revamped and not available at present. to be dispatched ASAP.

The point was raised that some funding bodies will fund bricks and mortar, while others will fund fixtures and fittings. Precise info not available at the meeting.

Ryedale Planning Office very short staffed, only 2 out of 6 officers at present. Our plans have not reached committee stage. It is hoped that they will be reviewed at February’s committee meeting.
